Limitations of Mimicr AI

It's not typical for an AI SaaS company to write a post criticizing its own chatbot. But everyone deserves to know what they are getting before they pay for it.

In this article, we’ll be talking about all the bad things about Mimicr AI, the first AI built to write like you and only you.

We are writing this article to make sure you know everything about Mimicr AI, as we promised, before you sign up.

1. Dumb

Mimicr AI is a small AI model, which is not even 1/8th of ChatGPT 4o. This was purely a result of the need to keep Mimicr AI at $5/month and such.

This means that Mimicr AI doesn’t have any reasonable knowledge of world events, nor can it solve complex equations or coding problems. But it EXCELS at one thing it was built for— writing. Keep no doubt of that.

2. 7 Prompts per chat

If you have been an early user of Microsoft Copilot in 2023, you must remember how they allowed 5 prompts per chat. That was to manage the model’s context windows.

In Mimicr AI, too, we have implemented the 7 prompts per chat restriction for the same reason. This would save you from inaccurate/incomplete responses and possible HBP.

If you deeply hate this, contact us with your rants. If we receive a significant amount of these rants, we might do something about it (no guarantees!).

3. It all depends on the sample text

When you sign up for Mimicr AI, you will need to share a sample of your writing, either by copying/pasting already existing documents or by answering the questions in long texts. The performance of Mimicr AI solely depends on the text you provide.

Simply put, it basically “rewrites” the whole personality of Mimicr AI. If you provide a formal, AI-generated response, Mimicr AI will definitely sound like that. You can’t expect it to sound “human” if your sample text doesn’t.

We try to build a system that evaluates the sample texts before processing them, but even that wouldn’t make it foolproof. That’s why we encourage you to use a sample text written by you and only you. It would take a maximum of 1 hour to save you countless hours.

It can’t be your everyday AI assistant

We can’t emphasize this enough. We do not want you to be disappointed when Mimicr AI can’t code like Claude or fix your SEO like ChatGPT. Mimicr AI is solely a “writing assistant”. It can write, rewrite, edit, and do all that stuff, sounding like you, uniquely. And that’s it.

It’s your everyday “writing assistant”, not the smartest AI on Earth.
